PACK 131 (Cub scouts in k-5th grade)
TROOP 311 (BOYS) - TROOP 113 (GIRLS)
Thanks to the generosity of our Chartered Organization, Northminster Presbyterian Church, we have a single destination in Springfield, OH for the youth of Northridge and the surrounding community to experience all that Scouting America has to offer. Our mission, and the mission of Scouting, is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices throughout their lives, instilling values that promote self-fulfillment and constructive roles in society. Our Scouting community aims to build self-confidence & independence, teamwork, a connection with nature, a life & leadership skills through a combination of age-appropriate outdoor experiences, service to the community, and weekly activities that teach valuable lessons in character development and peer engagement. No matter your age or experience, there is a place for your child in our Scouting family.
LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR COUNCIL
Since 1923, Tecumseh Council has provided a quality Scouting program to thousands of youth in Logan, Champaign, Clark, Greene, and Clinton Counties. With more than 1,400 youth in 80 Scouting units, and over 1,000 adult volunteers, Tecumseh Council has spent the last century developing our youth into competent and confident young adults.
Originally established as Clark County Council (Council 439), the Council later added additional counties. Camp Hugh Taylor Birch, the council’s headquarters, was established in 1936 with the donation of 25 acres of farmland by Mr. Hugh Taylor Birch. Today, Camp Birch has grown to over 440 acres of woodland adjacent to Clifton Gorge, John Bryan State Park, and Glen Helen Nature Preserve.
Camp Birch – complete with a dining hall that serves 300, an Olympic size swimming pool, a 10-acre lake, and many other facilities – is our outdoor facility that we use to teach character, citizenship, personal fitness, and environmental awareness. Besides our Cub Scout Packs and Scouts BSA Troops, Camp Birch is also used by churches, schools, other youth groups, the National Guard and college organizations. Every weekend, 10 to 15 different groups are camping or using our facilities for activities and meetings.
